As a self-employed contractor on the Housekeep platform, you can work flexibly — including choosing where, when and how you work. As part of this, you have an absolute right to appoint a Substitute for your work — for example, if you’re on holiday, or you need to look after children during the school holidays.
When you appoint a Substitute, it's your responsibility to ensure they meet all the requirements to work as set out in your Service provider agreement. This includes checking the following information about your substitute:
- They have the right to work in the UK
- They are not subject to any unspent criminal convictions (find out how to check here)
Please remember that you're responsible for your substitute and their ability to carry out a clean safely and to the standards your customer expects.
