Your spare keys are looked after by your Housekeeper between cleans.
When you organise for your Housekeeper to pick up your spare keys via your Housekeep account or app, we send your Housekeeper a unique code to tag to your spare keys. And we ask them to remove any other identification about you or your property.
This means that only your Housekeeper & the Housekeep Team know which property the keys are for.
If your Housekeeper goes on holiday
Your spare keys will stay with your regular Housekeeper if they go on a holiday, so they can resume your cleans as soon as they return from their break.
If you'd like a cover Housekeeper while they're away, you need to provide access for the cover Housekeeper.
If you would prefer to get your spare keys returned to you before your Housekeeper goes on holiday, you can ask your Housekeeper to return the keys on their next visit.
Booking a key return
You can book a key return in your Housekeep account or app. Here's some more information: How can I get my spare keys back?
If your keys are misplaced
In the very rare circumstance that your Housekeeper misplaces your keys, as long as they're registered in our system, your Housekeeper will be responsible for reimbursing you the cost of cutting a replacement set. We'll apply the cost of a new set to your account as cleaning credit.
As there's only the unique code on the keys, we're not able to organise a lock change if keys are misplaced.
Find out who is looking after your keys in your Housekeep account
You can check the location of your spare keys at any time by visiting the Access details page of your Housekeep account or app (under More in the menu).
Spare key access is an agreement between yourself and your Housekeeper, and Housekeep cannot be held responsible for complications arising from this.
